​I grew up in Lawrence County Tennessee and graduated High School in Lawrenceburg, Tennessee.

In High School, my most favorite classes were Math, Drafting, and Future Farmers of America, (FFA).
I took all three subjects every year and was top of my classes.
Math was interesting, FFA was fun, but drafting was absolutely the most fun class I took.

After High School, "LIFE" took over.
I could not afford to go to college, so I started working in the factory, "Murray Ohio" In Lawrenceburg, TN.
I hated the jobs!  And the worst of all was in the Press Room, banging out part after part for pennies each.

I asked an older Mentor - Friend about ways to improve my situation for "The Future."
Immediately he asked what I enjoyed most in High School, and I told him the three classes above.
He said, perhaps you should go to Vocational Technical School and get a certificate in Drafting.

SO, I DID!
I passed the course, of course, and then began looking for companies I could use my new Drafting Certificate.
At Murray, I had been promoted into the Experimental Parts Department making metal parts for drafted drawings.

GUESS WHAT I DISCOVERED!
You know the old saying, "You Can't see what is directly under your nose."
That was my case.  One day I decided to read on the drawings, where the drawings were drawn.
Murray Ohio had their own Drafting, Design, and Engineering department in Brentwood TN, just up the road!
I yelled out to my boss, "I'm going to work in Brentwood, get me an interview!"

The next day I had an interview and got the job in Brentwood!

My career has been improving ever since!
I am now 70 years old and building one-of-a-kind tables, toys, and ​small furniture.

I also got into designing and drafting house plans for the public.
I have successfully designed 15 houses that have been built per local codes.
